When a Door Closes...
Page 2
A window opens.  A few days ago, I got a call from my friend Chi-Lan Lieu , a correspondent for CW Now.  She needed an ‘expert’ to talk about HDTV’s, so bright and early (woke up at 4:45 AM for a 7:00 AM call time) on Thursday we shot the segment.  HDTV lingo is really techie stuff and I always thought the industry has done a terrible job explaining it to the masses.  All that 720p/1080i/1080p stuff gets confusing.  This was my chance to explain it for the average consumer.  I might have still been too nerdy in the story…what can I say?  Anyhow, it airs Sunday, September 30th at 7 PM on the CW.

It was really cool working with Chi-Lan again, even if was only for a couple hours.  It also felt great working with a broadcast crew again with the full setup.  Camera, audio, producers, a monitor...a location!  A boom mic (haven't seen one of those forever).  In the run and gun world of Internet television, we all have to wear many hats and a seemingly simple thing like filming in a store takes lots of approvals and time to prepare.  A simple thing like filming at the beach requires permits in many areas of Los Angeles.  Even showing the Hollywood sign costs money.  Anyhow...it feels great to be on television again though it's only for a few minutes.
