Last week, I took a much needed week off and visited Toronto, my hometown. My family is slowly migrating west and this seemed the perfect opportunity to reconnect with my hometown before they’ve all left and trips there would become even more infrequent It’s been almost two years since my last visit to this place I called home for 25 years. I reconnected with high school friends and college cohorts I’d lost touch with over the years. So much is different, yet remains the same.

Every year in March, thousands of DJ’s and electronic music fans converge on Miami Beach for the Miami Music Multimedia (M3) Summit and competing show, the Winter Music Conference . In the end, it’s the beach by day and partying all night. I attend for another reason - to see Motorola’s cell phone music initiative.

I spent the weekend in the Bay Area helping a close friend move into his first house. That was Friday and Saturday. Originally, Friday was reserved for a friend who now lives a couple hours outside of San Francisco, but when she fell ill I ended up moving instead. That was the point of my visit anyway.
