Good Intentions... PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 14 November 2006

I’ve severely neglected updating my Web site and completely ignored my blog. I don’t have a good excuse. When I decided to buy this URL, I was looking for a place to post my resume and have some writing samples for employment opportunities. Then I decided that I would fill it with all those good intentions plus a blog, photos, technology reviews, and a column.

It was an ambitious idea. I set everything up (that took hours), then I woke up. How much of my personal life am I willing to put online? What photos can I put online? Would my friends appreciate the photos being shared with the world? And the writing I intended to do? I got tired of making everything sound presentable. At TechTV, I grew accustomed to an editor going over everything before it went online. It's even stricter in print. On my own site, it's all on me.

Then there's the blogging. logging is a free form expression. There are no rules. You just spew whatever comes to mind into cyberspace. I'm constantly amazed at how much people are willing to share or how creatively some bloggers describe their personal life without ever giving anything away. I guess I just don't spew very well.
