A window opens. A few days ago, I got a call from my friend Chi-Lan Lieu , a correspondent for CW Now. She needed an ‘expert’ to talk about HDTV’s, so bright and early (woke up at 4:45 AM for a 7:00 AM call time) on Thursday we shot the segment. HDTV lingo is really techie stuff and I always thought the industry has done a terrible job explaining it to the masses. All that 720p/1080i/1080p stuff gets confusing. This was my chance to explain it for the average consumer. I might have still been too nerdy in the story…what can I say? Anyhow, it airs Sunday, September 30th at 7 PM on the CW.
It was really cool working with Chi-Lan again, even if was only for a couple hours. It also felt great working with a broadcast crew again with the full setup. Camera, audio, producers, a monitor...a location! A boom mic (haven't seen one of those forever). In the run and gun world of Internet television, we all have to wear many hats and a seemingly simple thing like filming in a store takes lots of approvals and time to prepare. A simple thing like filming at the beach requires permits in many areas of Los Angeles. Even showing the Hollywood sign costs money. Anyhow...it feels great to be on television again though it's only for a few minutes. Quote this article on your site
09-29-2007 02:41 outside us. Good to hear. Is there anyway for us outside the US to watch it? 09-29-2007 03:22 re: outside us. It looks like CW Now puts some stuff online, so maybe it'll be put there? Otherwise, it's a US only show. 09-29-2007 08:58 Gratz Congrats Hahn. Hopefully this will be the start of something BIG. You deserve it! I was a long time InDigital viewer. Can't wait to see what you do next! 09-29-2007 15:01 Miss you man! Great news, hope all goes well for you in the future man. A fan, In Australia. =) 09-29-2007 16:04 Boston, MA That's awesome to hear, Hahn. We look forward to more content from you soon, we hope. Also, long time InDigital fan!!! Congrats!!!!! 09-29-2007 18:02 Monterey, CA Hahn, I just wanted to say thanks for inDigital. I watched from episode 1, and thought it was just great. The last episode came as a shock to me, but I had to stop by and express my gratitude for you and the show, and tell you that I think you did a great job. I really wish you all the best in the future and hope to see you in a new podcast at some point in the future! Thanks again! 09-29-2007 19:35 Monterey, CA Awesome news, go Hahn!!! Remember, the Chinese have a word that means both crisis and opportunity: Crisitunity! 09-30-2007 20:13 Monterey, CA Dag I missed it! I'm patiently waiting for it to be on youtube. Seems CW is doing lots of new media-esque things with so much online content. Maybe a home for Hahn? 10-01-2007 06:57 Yay Good to hear your back on your feet Hahn!! In my Don Cherry voice "Ya can't keep a good Candian boy down!!" 10-07-2007 04:14 Yay Good luck man, I thought you were awesome in In Digital and think its a sad loss to revision 3. I'm now only going to be watching that for Pixel Perfect.. but that looks to be hitting a wall now. Thanks for all the work you did. Absolute legend that you are. 10-10-2007 13:37 Yay Hope things are going well, Hahn. I checked out the first two episodes of TekZilla and man, DOES THAT SHOW SUCK. I couldn't believe how poor both shows were. It's nothing like inDigital and frankly, I don't see how it ever could be in its current form. Canceling inDigital made no sense; TekZilla is no replacement at all. TekZilla feels 8 parts entertainment, 2 part tech, blech. Swiping Jim L. may help Rev3 put out shows on a more regular basis, but I have real doubts about the quality content, now. Patrick is a cool guy, but he tries way too hard to be "cool" and "funny" and it tends to get old really fast. Every show needs a straight man and Hahn, you were it! Argh! His chemistry with Jessica isn't there (yet?), either. Can't wait to see your next project(s)! Cya bro! 10-11-2007 19:54 Goodbye Hello I was sad to see the end of InDigital... it was one of my fave podcasts. But now I'm looking forward to what you're going to do next! Take care and good luck! 10-12-2007 19:15 Wow what can i say? i definitely dislike the fact that you were basically given your "walkin papers" i guess that's what happens when the man comes down. I have been a loyal viewer downloading and viewing your shows multiple times; yes multiple times. Something about the chemistry that keeps ya hooked and informed. I'm certain with your knowledge you will find a "home" and get the credit that you deserve. your efforts will pay off. GOOD LUCK10-19-2007 08:27 Best of Luck Good luck, Hahn. I loved the show, and will look for you wherever you land. 10-21-2007 16:55 HC on CW NOW, again! Nice job on the Blu-ray vs HD-DVD segment. Will you be on every new episode of CW NOW? 10-23-2007 17:57 Keep us up to date! Hahn, great job with inDigital. Keep us up to date on any of your new stuff. 10-28-2007 13:30 Thanks! Hey Hahn, just wanted to say i really enjoyed watching Indigital! I hope to see you on a new show soon! Thanks, Chad 11-17-2007 02:27 Thanks! Hi, I'm from Germany. I enjoyed watching your show. I hope to see you in a new project soon. Best of luck! John 11-19-2007 22:23 Let us know what's coming up! Hey Hahn, I, like many others, can't wait to see what you've got coming up next. Please keep us updated on any projects you're working on. All of us wish you the best of luck with all future endeavors. 11-23-2007 17:18 Let us know what's coming up! Hahn, count me as another viewer sad from the end of Indigital. It was one of my favorite podcasts. I've always found your presentation style to be calm, informative, and sincere... and easy enough for even non-techies to understand. I'm looking forward to your next project! Good luck!
