The Latest...
Tuesday, 16 December 2008

I’ve been getting lots of email from fans of InDigital wondering what I’ve been up to lately.  I’m currently working for an online television network as their in-house tech guy. There’s a state-of-the-art green screen studio system along with a bunch of remote cameras across the country and Web cams too.  The shows are streamed out live to the Web in real-time (actually there’s a small delay).  It’s intense stuff putting out around 2 hours live everyday and like all technology, there’s always something that doesn’t seem to work quite the way you expected.  The site?  It’s called PJTV and they cover politics from the right side of center.  While the politics might not necessarily agree with me I like the technology behind the scene.

When a Door Closes...
Saturday, 29 September 2007
A window opens.  A few days ago, I got a call from my friend Chi-Lan Lieu , a correspondent for CW Now.  She needed an ‘expert’ to talk about HDTV’s, so bright and early (woke up at 4:45 AM for a 7:00 AM call time) on Thursday we shot the segment.  HDTV lingo is really techie stuff and I always thought the industry has done a terrible job explaining it to the masses.  All that 720p/1080i/1080p stuff gets confusing.  This was my chance to explain it for the average consumer.  I might have still been too nerdy in the story…what can I say?  Anyhow, it airs Sunday, September 30th at 7 PM on the CW.

My Next Project: InDigital
Tuesday, 03 January 2006

It didn't take long for me to pick up a new project, though this is far riskier than any I've ever undertaken. I've decided to create and fund my own gadget show called InDigital - Your Life In Gear. I haven't had a chance to build the site yet, but hope to before the first episode goes online. For avid TechTV fans, the show goes back to the tradition of Fresh Gear before the start of TechLive when Sumi Das hosted. Of course, the look and feel is different, but there won't be a shortage of opinion, something I always thought made Fresh Gear great.
